Fashion Week Round-Up: London

Following the splendour that was New York fashion week, London took to the stage in order to show us their prediction for SS'15. Unlike it's predecessor, LFW chose to tone down the extravagant style and opted for more colour and wonderful tailoring. More shows strutted in flats than 6-inch heels letting us know that next season you need to dress down in order to dress up.

Bora Aksu
The Turkish designer showcased a combination of whites and blues to complete his collection. Accompanied by the use of lace and clever cuts, he got us mentally prepared for Spring to come back.

 Jena. Theo
The designers created the most colourful collection in London. By combining a tie-dye effect with big bows and slouch dresses, they remind me of a oriental garden. Personally, I'm a big fan of baggy dresses that still make me look feminine, so I can't wait for this release!

Julien Macdonald
Frills and lace were also the guests of honour at the Julien Macdonald show. Not only were the looks incredibly stunning (including his embroidered wedding dress), they also seemed very light and recalled that of a Ballerina, perfect Spring look!

Marchesa
One of the biggest highlights of LFW came in the form of Marchesa. Twitter was particularly in a buzz, talking about the ethereal dresses which reminded us of those in the Delpozo show in New York.

Marios Schwab
A new meaning of minimal was created with Marios Schwab SS'15 line. Not only did he employ trends we spotted in NYFW, he also recreated the classic 'trench jacket' look in order to fit in for the warmer weather.

Temperley
At the Temperley show, we witnessed the use of geometric and gingham prints which made the looks pop. My particular favourite was the tan and black collections (pictured first) and it's definitely no.1 on my wishlist.

Burberry Prorsum
The Burberry fashion show is one of "those" that I look forward to annually. Not only because it's close to home (and therefore easy to catch people before and after the show), but also because it's one that never disappoints, and this year is no exception. The brilliant use of chiffon to accessorize every look makes us realise it's super easy to get into the Spring/Summer frame of mind.

 David Koma
Asymmetric cuts and intricate detail are what make Koma somewhat of a piece of art and one of the best at LFW. This show demonstrated that SS'15 is all about the woman who isn't afraid to experiment with different lines and shapes while also showing off her feminine side.

Emilia Wickstead
Simple yet elegant pastel designs were what made Emilia Wickstead's line stand out to me. This collection reminds the viewer that lace and flowers don't always have to be part of a Spring wardrobe.

We're now halfway but that only means there's still time to be completely wowed so prepare yourselves  for Milan!

the tall and short.
